Hub Top Ten: Funniest Car Ads

Before you start to read this countdown of our Top Ten ‘funniest’ car adverts, I can guarantee that we will have forgotten one of your favourites. It’s always the way, isn’t it? Let us know what we’ve missed out! Let’s be honest, Team Hub loves a good Youtube session, and the funnier the better. Get in touch over Twitter or leave us a message in the comment box.

Also, keep an eye out for future top tens. We’ve enjoyed putting this one together so much that we’re going to make it a habit. Any suggestions for future lists?

These are in no particular order, by the way. We had no way of determining ‘funniness’, as we couldn’t fit the laugh-ometer into the Hub studio…

Alfa Romeo 147 – Sloth, Stay Alive

Hilarious. And the car is beautiful. This little guy should be as big a star as the insurance meerkat. Look at his face!

Fiat Palio – Those Who Drive Them, Love Them

I’m sure none of us can empathise with this driver, as nowadays motorists and cyclists share a special and loving relationship.

Volkswagen – 2012 Superbowl Teaser

This 2012 ‘Bowl teaser may have been better than the resulting ad. Your thoughts? Also, the ATAT Dog is the best bit, right?

Peugeot 206 – Ambassador

Nice idea, and the song at the end is catchy (Bhangra Knights by Husan, in case you were wondering).

Volkswagen Golf MkII – Mystery Squeaking Noise

Every Golf advert is smart. This ad is good all the way through, then everything goes up a gear on the expertly deployed tagline.

Toyota Sienna – Swagger Wagon

If you can deal with the cringeworthiness of rapping parents, listen to their lyrics. Their bars are none too shabby!

Volkswagen Polo – Singing Dog

This Jack Russell’s got it going on, he can really hold a tune too. Mark Knighton, who did the rigging on this advert, spent some time freelancing with Hub once upon a time. A fantastic, high-quality job from a Hub alumnus!
